MiniMaxDiagnostic & Therapeutic Catheter

About MiniMax

MiniMax is an ablation-mapping catheter used for detecting intracardiac electrophysiological signals, creating a 3D map of the heart, and performing intracardiac irrigated RF ablation to treat arrhythmias caused by abnormalities in the heart’s conduction system.

The Problem

Traditional catheter-based ablation procedures are often complex, requiring the use of multiple catheters and exposing patients to high levels of radiation. Additionally, they require separate vascular access for the diagnostic and mapping electrodes, which increases the invasiveness of the entire procedure.

Each additional puncture and the use of multiple electrodes increases the risk of complications and raises treatment costs. Limited precision in locating the foci of arrhythmia may further reduce the effectiveness of treatment and burden the healthcare system.

MiniMax – precision without X-ray

MiniMax enables 3D heart mapping, allowing for reduced use of X-rays, thereby minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff.

Enables minimally invasive/percutaneous ablation procedures. It combines ablation functions (RF ablation) and diagnostic functions (mapping and electrophysiological examination), potentially increasing effectiveness and safety.

By integrating multiple functions, it reduces the number of vascular punctures, used electrodes, which may result in the shorter duration of the procedure.

Potential competitive advantages

  • Increases safety of the procedure by reducing the number of punctures and catheters used
  • Improves access to difficult structures due to the steerable tip
  • Reduces the need for X-ray radiation, thanks to precise localization in 3D-EAM systems
  • Allows cooling of the catheter with a physiological salt solution, increasing the effectiveness of ablation

Functionalities

MiniMax is a 2-in-1 catheter equipped with a sophisticated saline cooling system and a flexible steerable tip, enabling precise 3D navigation and point-by-point RF ablation.

The reduced need for X-ray imaging potentially supports safer procedures and modern visualization techniques.

MiniMax is being developed to increase the precision and safety of the procedure and to shorten its duration.
